CREATIVE SOLUTIONS
Historical downtown Louisville is a popular summertime destination. To attract and accommodate patrons, the City wanted to improve the storefronts of their downtown businesses while creating a relaxing atmosphere to dine, visit and enjoy the sites of downtown Louisville.
ACCESSIBLE AND ADJUSTABLE
Our scope included several conceptual designs that were reviewed by City staff with the final design reflecting improvements to seating areas and space for comfortable outdoor dining. Specifically designed railings with attached basket planters and colorful shade umbrellas create an inviting and casual setting. Each parklet is ADA accessable, is adjustable for different curb heights and elevations changes and does not block street drainage. The parklets were built with durable materials that allow for minimal maintenance and are installed along Main Street every Spring and detached in the off season for winter storage.
