Proposal and Communications Manager (3-5 years experience)

A Proposal and Communications Manager at Design Concepts is devoted to helping the firm reach these goals by working collaboratively with our team members in creating and producing proposals and marketing strategies that communicate our approach and help drive our business success. This role also includes involvement in traditional and innovative marketing communication and creative tactics, strategic online marketing and a variety of office administration responsibilities.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in English, literature, marketing and/ or communications

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in proposal, marketing and/or a communications position

  • Self-motivated personality, proactive attitude, strong organization

  • Attention to detail and high standards of work quality

  • Highly skilled with InDesign and other Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of databases, MS Office apps and other programs beneficial to the position

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment and be a team player


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Continued support of the firm’s philosophy – vision, mission and culture statements

  • Ability to develop a working understanding of the business and practice of Landscape Architecture

  • Plan, schedule, facilitate and attend weekly proposal meetings, monthly firm marketing meetings and follow up with meeting notes

  • Lead the collection and assembly of materials for proposals and SOQs

  • Establish, communicate, and implement RFP/RFQ production deadlines and expectations

  • Develop, write, edit and proofread proposal content in a time-sensitive nature incorporating the input of others

  • Effective in persuasive, creative and marketing writing

  • Meet multiple tight deadlines and facilitate collaborative proposal processes with multiple coworkers

  • Keep resumes, project descriptions and related marketing materials up to date and relevant

  • Assist with project interviews, presentation materials, conference booth composition, etc.

  • Track, coordinate and schedule project photography

  • Coordinate and prepare project award submittals

  • Work on marketing and social media development and implement strategic messaging and tactics

  • Lead and coordinate promotional efforts, publications, publicity, social media and market research

  • Be actively involved in appropriate professional organizations and professional development

  • Maintain mailing and email lists

  • Assist with travel accommodations for project interviews, projects, conferences and seminars

  • Assist with registration for conferences and seminars

  • Provide back-up to all staff when additional help is needed

Landscape Architect/Designer (1-3 years experience)

We’re looking for a special new team member to join our firm! Design Concepts is seeking a unique, personable, passionate and talented Landscape Architect/Designer to our studio environment and to complement our firm.

We’re a landscape architecture practice focused on innovation and exploration in design of public community spaces - from parks, schools, greenways, open space, trails and other civic projects. Located in eclectic old town Lafayette, Colorado, our open studio office is full of brilliant like-minded folks who share a deep passion to our craft and extraordinary commitment to serve the greater community.

Here’s What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a highly motivated, creative and personable individual with 1-3 years of experience who enjoys collaborating with other creative professionals in an open studio environment.

Required skills include:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture

  • Effectively participate and contribute to a collaborative team environment

  • A passion for creativity

  • Knowledge/experience in the design process from master plan through construction documentation and administration. Irrigation knowledge and/or interest a plus.

  • Experience in irrigation design or an interest in learning.

  • High level of attention to quality and detail

  • Ability to work at a variety of project scales

  • Ability to multitask projects

  • Strong design and organizational skills

  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills

  • Strong graphic and technical computer skills in AutoCAD, GIS, Adobe (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop), SketchUp, Lumion and hand drawing
