Designing for the Future with Exciting Leadership Additions

Design Concepts continues to position our firm for the next step in landscape architecture excellence and innovation. Today we announced two internal promotions from among our talented staff.

Landscape Architect Lisa Langer Promoted to Associate

Lisa is a Colorado Registered Landscape Architect. She joined Design Concepts in 2015 with over 20 years in the industry. During her tenure, she has worked on numerous projects as a designer and Project Manager. Her work on Boulder Valley School District’s Meadowlark PK-8 school recently helped the design team to win the 2017 A4LE People’s Choice Award.

As an Associate, Lisa will grow our business through her leadership and design excellence and increased customer-focused relations.

Lisa has a Master’s of Landscape Architecture from the University of Colorado-Denver, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of New Hampshire.

and Associate Erik Spring to Principal

Erik Spring Promoted to Principal

Erik is also a Colorado Registered Landscape Architect. Since joining the firm in 2002, he has worked as Designer, Landscape Architect, and most recently, Associate. He has played an integral role on numerous signature projects, notably the award-winning Discovery Park in Wheat Ridge and the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds. The major renovation of the Fairgrounds in Aurora, Colorado, included a ten-acre natural play area highlighted by an active stream and adventure playground. Combined with the rodeo and riding arenas, exhibition spaces, midway, multi-purpose event buildings, and RV accommodations, the unconventional park design turned the outdated property into a rich community asset.

In his new role, Erik will continue to apply new design approaches to non-traditional parks, focusing his efforts on bringing people together and strengthening communities by designing original outdoor spaces that strengthen connections to nature.

Erik has a B.A. in Landscape Architecture from California Polytechnic State University.

“Lisa and Erik are valued members of our team. They are both gifted landscape architects with proven experience and success across a wide range of projects,” said Carol Henry, President of Design Concepts. “Lisa will bring extensive design experience and creativity to her new role, and Erik has for many years personified the values, culture, and philosophy on which the firm was founded. We are excited to reward their contributions with these well-earned promotions.”
