Identifiers and Theming Make Bayou Gulch Special

A contemporary ranch theme is seen throughout the park in structures and decorative elements. Footprints of native wildlife are embedded in the central walk, and of domestic animals are around the interior farmstead.

Structures include a homestead-like concession building, shelters which resemble farmstead outbuildings, and a maintenance facility that resembles a hay barn. The playground entrance is a corral fence and etchings of animals and native plants are hidden throughout the play area.

Bayou Gulch was one of the first sites in the County’s park system to incorporate our master planned signage and wayfinding design program. The program established a standard sign design to be used at each of the County’s park sites.
