Vista Peak High School P-20 Campus | Aurora Public Schools

Aurora, Colorado

When Design Concepts was asked to join a team including four architecture firms in two joint ventures along with the civil engineering firm JVA, Inc., our combined mission was to tie the three schools of the PEAK campus together into one cohesive facility, while allowing each one to maintain its own identity within the whole. The resulting campus is a cutting-edge model for 21st century education, where students participate in pathways to prepare for college, careers, and long-term achievement.

The Vista PEAK 9-12 Preparatory Campus is part of the first preschool through postsecondary educational concept of its kind in the nation. Combining an ECE-8 school, a 9-12 preparatory school, and a future community college campus on one unified hundred-acre site, PEAK (“Prepare, Explore, Access, Knowledge”) embodies an innovative and progressive approach to education. Beginning in ninth grade, PEAK students earn high school and college credit simultaneously, allowing them to jump-start their futures and set themselves up for success.

In accordance with the forward-looking nature of PEAK, the Vista PEAK campus was built on a foundation of sustainability in all areas, and is certified LEED gold.
