Description:
|
The existing 47-acre Utah Park functions as a flood control facility as well as a highly-used community park. Design Concepts developed a Master Plan to renovate the majority of the park in 2006. The park embraces the natural creeks that flow into the park year round and turn them into a major park amenity.
Design Concepts designed an aquatic-theme shelter that was selected as the winner of the 2006 Poligon - Park Architecture design competition. The 17-by-19-foot "Waves" shade structure, constructed by Poligon of tubular steel with fabricated "wave" panels overhead, was unveiled in October 2006 at the annual conference American Society of Landscape Architects in Minneapolis. The shelter has been donated to the 57-acre Utah Park in Aurora
