| Description: |
Construction for site improvements at the 18-acre Faversham Park was complete in Fall 2004. This park is a popular site for picnicking, play and fishing, with a well-established pond and mature vegetation and existing playground. The projectÃs primary focus was on improving fish habitat and fishing opportunities at the pond. Public meetings were held to gather neighborhood input.
Pond improvements included dredging and aeration. Site improvements included a fishing dock and boardwalk, a picnic shelter, a concrete trail which loops around the pond, landscaping, irrigation, and expanded parking. The plaza area at the shelter is designed with a sandblasted wave pattern and metal cutouts of native and introduced Colorado fish species. This project was made possible not only by the City of Westminster, but also Jefferson County Open Space Joint Venture Grant and CDOWÃs Fishing is Fun, who provided grants to aid in the funding for construction. |
