| Description: | Union Reservoir is an existing 600-acre reservoir on the eastern edge of Longmont, Colorado. It is an extremely popular recreation area and has a diverse wildlife sanctuary. The reservoir's future expansion plans include increasing its storage capacity. As a result of the expansion, Design Concepts was hired to facilitate a series of public meetings and to develop a Master Plan that addressed the expansion of the reservoir as well as the growing recreational needs. The Master Plan includes a perimeter loop path, a day use area on the southwest side including a sailing club building, picnic grove, dog beach, BMX track and a boat launch. The east side of the reservoir is planned to have a day use area, boat launch, swim beach, shoreline picnic area, boat storage, fishing pier, RV Camping, tent camping and a scout circle outdoor classroom. | ||
