Student Internship Program

Purpose:
The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for students with one year or less of study remaining in landscape architecture or a related field, to experience working with a leading landscape architectural firm. In addition, Design Concepts is dedicated to the profession in which we practice and support the work-study environment. Design Concepts welcomes and encourages intern involvement to enrich our work environment while providing a positive and rewarding professional experience for the intern.

Program:
The program is designed to expose students to an interactive professional office environment and team of experienced design professionals. During this time, the landscape architect intern may:

• Experience the daily tasks and procedures in a landscape architecture firm
• Be involved in design charettes
• Visit projects under construction
• Complete a project with professional guidance
• Explore your questions and insights with our staff

Participants will be responsible for making all travel arrangements and arranging their own housing during the internship employment period. Design Concepts will offer assistance in making these arrangements.

Application Materials:
We would like to review the following:

• Current resume with cover letter
• One letter of reference from a Professor in your department (mailed separately).
• Two to three examples of your creative work such as drawings, photography, colored renderings/graphics, research or writing style (either hard copies or on a CD formatted for PC). Items will not be returned, so please do not send originals. We would be happy to review your web site if available.
• Completed Intern Questionnaire

Internship Process:
Participants may apply at any time; however, we will keep your application on file and respond to each applicant by the notification date listed below, which are based on the internship start date. No phone calls, please.
